"Student treating me disappeared mid-treatment?"

About: Leeds Dental Hospital

Anything else?

I was referred here after a botched crown reinsertment elsewhere landed me in hospital on an antibiotic drip with cellulitis. After seeing a surgeon I was referred to Restorative where a post-grad student agreed to take my case. She took casts of my teeth aso a temporary crown could be made and booked me in to have the crown drilled off a few weeks later. During the crown removal (which I found worrying as she was very unsure of herself and had to be interrupted and the job finished by a supervising dentist), the dental nurse opened the packaging containing my temporary crown, meaning it had to be binned and I was given the choice "Do you want a crown that's far too white or far too yellow?" The far-too-yellow one was inserted (front tooth, top row.) I had to suspend my appointments because of shoulder surgery, and have been calling and leaving messages ever since (2 months now; left at least 5 messages) saying I need to get the treatment started again. The infection's still there and could flare up again any time, plus I have a horrible temporary crown in a very prominent place in my mouth. All the receptionist can do is leave messages, but either they're not getting through or she's ignoring them. Maybe she's terrifically busy - either way it's pretty discourteous treatment and wouldn't happen outside this environment, I'm sure. I am very disappointed with this treatment, and don't know what to do next. I can't afford to go private, and the receptionist was at a loss when I asked if I could speak to a manager, so that got me nowhere. I just hope someone contacts me before I'm back in hopsital in the worst pain of my life having the tooth removed altogether.
