"My son's dislocated shoulder "

About: Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital (Wonford) / Paediatrics South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust

(as a parent/guardian),

My son had an accident at school and dislocated his shoulder. The Ambulance crew were excellent as he was only 9 and in a lot of pain.

I would like to say a special thank you to one member of staff called Jim. After we arrived at the hospital I was slightly unsure of the way the Dr was dealing with my son and his pain but when the Dr decided to put his shoulder back into place Jim took control and made my son calm and ensured he was not in too much pain making him breath through the pain while on gas and air.

Dear Whitby

Thank you very much for taking the time to share your story - I hope your son's shoulder is recovering well!

It is always so rewarding to hear that our staff are continuing to provide excellent care to patients, and their families, when they need it most.

I can ensure a specific thanks is passed to Jim and his crew mate, however I will need some particular information from you in order to do this. May I ask you to contact me on 01392 453831 or email laura.martin@swast.nhs.uk and I can make sure that your story is shared with the crew who attended your son.

Thank you, again, for taking the time to provide us with feedback.

Laura
