What I liked
my daughter has been admitted through A&E on to the kingfisher ward several times since the the age of one,(she is now two) with the last stay a month ago. The staff on A&E were very professional and thoughtful in reassuring my daughter and I. The treatment was quick and efficient with no unneccesary waiting times. The staff on Kingfisher Ward, even down to the health care assistants were amazing. I stayed with my daughter everynight (some stays lasting nearly a week) and the nurses/staff always did their very best to look after us. There was genuine care with the nurses and for some you could really see this was their vocation. I won't hesitate in bringing her in again, as I know she will receive top class treatment on Ward one. The consultants/registrars/doctors/nurses/healthcare assistants and even the cleaners work together to give an all round good environment.
What could be improved
The only bad thing, which is totally petty, On a childrens ward to give them a sandwich for dinner is pretty bad. When they are feeling better they need a proper dinner, not a dried up sandwich. I would never dream of giving her a sandwich for dinner , even if she has had a hot lunch.
