Anything else?
I needed an op for a double hernia. Initial consultation was very good, as was the pre-op appointment. Everything was explained very clearly and thoroughly. Waited only a month or so for the op from the time I first saw my GP. Was admitted into Mersea ward, which is very well organised. In pre op side you are given your own room and all the preparation and checks are carried out there. I had a complication in that I have a pacemaker and the aneasthetist was concerned about my heart and explained that they mau have to abort the op if they had any concerns when they had given the aneasthetic. All went very well, I didnt know anything about it until I came to in the recovery ward, where there was a one to one nurse in attendance on each patient. After a couple of hours I was taken back to Mersea ward and admitted into a room with four beds. I hoped to get home that night but because of certain concerns that the staff had, I was kept in over night. Slept well had good food and excellent friendly nurses. Could not have wanted more, Well Done Colchester and thanks to surgeons nurses and aneasthetist.
