"Very good experience at obstetric anaesthetic..."

About: West Suffolk Hospital

Anything else?

I had to attend the obstetric anaesthetic clinic, as due to a previous spinal injury, some common forms of pain relief in child birth might not be available to me. The consultant was very helpful, reassuring and explained matters well. She was very keen to make clear that it was a partnership process between patient and the hospital, and that decisions would not be forced on me if I didn't want them or if they had been medically contraindicated by another doctor. She was prepared to take on liaising with another hospital in another area in order to get the best information to assist me. She was very impressive indeed and most reassuring. The clinic also ran to time. Very impressed indeed (even if I hope that I don't need anaesthetic services later on in the pregnancy :-) ). Please convey my thanks to the consultant and the clinic staff.
