I've attended G1 at the Hallamshire in Sheffield twice this year for miscarriages. All staff were kind, efficient and sensitive in helping me through two difficult times.
The first time involved scans at the start and end of a 6 week miscarriage and the second time a scan and then surgical procedure two days later after losing a pregnancy at 9w2days.
Although distressing it was good to have a choice of medical or surgical treatment and I thought the information leaflets provided were good. Staff in theatre were good at putting me at ease even though I was terrified.
The recovery and anaesthetic areas were meticulously clean and it was a calm environment. It was all over very quickly and although I was given as long as I wanted to rest afterwards in a single room in G1, I was home by late afternoon.
Thank you to all staff for making what was a sad and scary time, a lot easier to deal with.
