"Giving birth - Malden Suite - Very Disappointing..."

I arrive at the Hospatal 4 a.m with contractions 5 minutes apart. We were not given a room, but were sent out for an 1h walk. I did enjoy it even it was a bit cold. Arrived back to the hospital and I was hoping to get a room what was shown on the virtual tour video, but instead we have got a small room, really worm, with a fan, no air conditioner - it was the hottest day of that summer. After an examination - around 5 a.m. this midwife never turned up again. My contractions did slow down and I had about an hour ,where I could get some energy back. Then a women turned up to ask me to go home, as I don't look like to be in a big pain. I ask her to check how far am I dilated, bc I felt I'll not be able to cope with this pain in the car or home, then come back. She went to look for a midwife - it turned out that she wasn't one. An hour later - 9 a.m. - she came back, my contraction were 2 min apart and really strong. After the midwife examined me offered if I would go to the birthing room- the room shown on the video tour. I asked to be sent to the Labour Ward for an epidural. She left to find out. Other 30 min. later she told me that no free room available for an epidural for about an hour and she transferred me to the birthing room. I am really thankful for her bc she stayed with me and examined me - not like the other before. Unfortunately she didn't help /couldn't help with breathing and helping me when to push - like my midwife in Hungary when I give birth first time. I don't mention that in this room fan didn't worked - 11 a.m - hottest day!!! No other fun available. Gas and air - didn't make effect. Pethidine - I already was sick, so I couldn't get it. Finally epidural was available, but bc I was dilated 9,5 and they did not advised to take it. I knew that I can not take it bc of pushing. 11.55 a.m. my second daughter were in my hands, were born in the bag. The midwives almost missed the moment.....they were busy opening some packages. I am not complaining about the newborn treatment ,check-ups and circumstances in here, bc they are coming from the differences between the Hungarian and the English system. But I have to say that this one have no respect for new-born baby and mother. If I could change the past I would go back to Hungary no matter how.
