"Care, compassion and communication"

About: Royal Cornwall Hospital (Treliske)

Anything else?

I was admitted to this hospital through A&E and both myself and my husband were horrified by the services I received. I was not once offered a drink of water or asked how I was, I was not informed about was happening to me other than briefly by two junior doctors. All the nurses with whom I had contact with were lacking in communication and importantly compassion. The nurse in A&E could not even come to the side of my bed to talk to me and when asked a questuon just said 'idont know'. Not once did a nurse show care or concern to myself or to any other patient on the SRU, in fact you were made to feel you were a hinderance. A patient opposite my bed asked for pain killers and received them an hour later. From start to finish of my painful visit to this hospital was an awful experience, I dread to think how an old person would be in these conditions, This hospital lacks total leadership and the experience was like being in a third world hospital. What is happening? Please below I note only visited A&E but also SRU.
