I managed to injure my right hand one afternoon working at home. I decided to leave it overnight to see if the pain went away, it didn't. The next day my wife persuaded me to visit the A & E department at Lincoln County Hospital to get my hand checked out. Good job I did. I was sent for an X-ray and was found to have broken 2 bones in my hand, I was admitted the same day, operated on the next day and put into a cast for 5 weeks. I have just had the cast removed and so far so good, just going through physiotherapy now. The whole service I received from Lincoln County Hospital was excellent. From arriving at A & E to X-ray to orthopaedic diagnosis to admission to the Neustadt-Welton ward and the actual operation to aftercare I cannot speak highly enough of every member of staff. I would particularly like to mention the consultants Mr Qaimkhani / Mr Sadiki and Staff Nurse Amy Alsop for their professionalism and polite friendly nature. They made a stressful episode in my life much easier to deal with and my hand seems on the right path for a full recovery. Well done to them all. The NHS often gets bad press. I want to set this straight, Lincoln County and the staff there were brilliant.
"My broken hand."
