"I was admitted to the Royal Shrewsbury ..."

About: Royal Shrewsbury Hospital

(as the patient),

What I liked

I was admitted to the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital with a Heart attack coupled with pneumonia on 21st May.I was with my wife who is in a wheelchair. I received the most careful attention for which I am eternally grateful. Never did I feel at any time that the medical care I received was in any way lacking expertise. My wife was looked after my your staff and lodged in a local respite home. My thanks go to all the nurses of the coronary ward whose names I do not know and to the doctor, all of whom I shall remember with affection.

What could be improved

I am unable to think of anything that could be improved but then yours is the only hospital that I have been in so I have no standard to judge you by. However, I did find the floor of the shower leading off bay 2 very slippery and it did seem to fall in two directions. I am sure that a donation to either the nurses or general fund would be acceptable. In which case I should be pleased to hear from you.

My very best wishes to you all.

Raymond Mitchell

Thank you for providing feedback about our services. We aim to provide high quality services for all of our patients, so we are really pleased to hear that our aspirations were matched by your experience.

We will be contacting you in writing to offer a more personal thank you than we are able to provide through this website. In this letter we will also invite you to nominate any members of staff who are particularly deserving of thanks or recognition for the Chairman's Award (more information is also available from www.sath.nhs.uk/about/awards.asp, but we shall be sending you the nomination form). In fact, you can actually nominate the whole coronary care team if you want.

More information about how to make comments, complimements and complaints about our services can be found on our website at www.sath.nhs.uk

Thanks again for taking the time to comment on our services, and please accept our very best wishes for a continued recovery.
