I had foot surgery on 1st Feb. 2013 and due to bad decision-making I am still not able to return to work on 3rd July 2013. I was also less than satisfied with surroundings/service that was provided on the day of surgery in the sense that I and other patients were treated in curtained cubicles that provided little privacy or comfort and partners/relatives were not allowed to stay to offer support because the area was cramped and described as being within the confines of the operating theatre. There was nowhere to lie down after surgery other than a reclining chair and my cubicle was situated opposite the toilet which resulted in a further reduction to my privacy because other people needed to use the toilet facility.
