"4th time successful"

About: Broomfield Hospital

Anything else?

With ref. to my previous review on June 8th 2013: I make no retraction whatsoever on the points of criticism I raised then. That should not have happened but it did, my complaint stands: However, after attending an appointment yesterday 1st July (same place, same operation) I would like to add some further points here. It was with some skepticism that I attended my appointment, after the last 3 aborted appointments my faith in Broomfields was about as low as it could get. As it happened I did get to the operating theatre for my operation, but it took some seven hours of waiting before I was seen (and there were people behind me who had to wait even longer) That aside, I had my operation and was taken up to B344 ward for an over-night stay. This was where Broomfield excelled itself at looking after patients. Those staff on that ward couldn't have done enough for me, nothing was too much trouble for them. They were professional through and through, made all of the patients feel at ease, and I could not have wished for any better care. The ward was spotlessly clean, the food was lovely. In short, they couldn't have done better. Thank you all B344 and well done Such a pity that the booking in procedure downstairs lets the side down so badly: Having spoken to 3 or 4 staff members at various locations, it would appear that this is the norm If there's to be no chance whatsoever of being seen until about 2pm why have everyone booking in at 7:30am? Not going to end on a moan - - Thank you again to everyone up on B344, you're a credit to your profession

Dear Mr Walker Thank you for again taking the time to post about the experience you had whilst using our services. I shall forward the comments about the team on B344 who will appreciate them greatly. We have an Inpatient Experience Group at the Trust and I shall take the point you have raised regarding 'booking in at 7.30am' to see if we can look at alternatives for patients that are likely to go to theatres in the afternoon coming in later. Regards Jonathan Wright Patient Experience Team
