About: Basildon University Hospital

(as the patient),

What I liked

I have been under the care of the Haemotology Day unit since Nov 2006. The staff are extremely patient and caring. Nothing is too much trouble. The consultants are also very pleasant and also care about patients as individuals. Unfortunately I now have to go to Barts for further treatment and I am finding communication is very bad from their end.

What could be improved

Regarding the Clinical Haemotology Dept - nothing!

I did spend 8 weeks in hospital and found hygiene was very bad - I came out with Cdif. The food was also terrible - not tempting for sick people, very limited choice and no hot meal at night. They need to liaise more with other hospitals and come up with something more acceptable.
