"On both occasions the ambulance crew was helpful and considerate"

About: Bristol Royal Infirmary / Accident and emergency

(as a relative),

We used the ambulance service for my mother-in-law to take her to and from the Bristol Royal Infirmary where she was admitted.

The service was booked by her GP to take her to the hospital. She was told that it would take a couple of hours for the ambulance to arrive. In fact it took 3-4 hours. However, when she arrived at the hospital she was admitted straightaway.

Her stay in hospital was good, the staff were attentive and the meals were good. She found it difficult to talk to the other patients in the bay where she was as the beds were too far apart to allow her to chat.

When my mother-in-law was discharged the ward booked the ambulance again to bring her home. On both occasions the ambulance crew was helpful and considerate.

Hi Opal853

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your story with us. I hope your mother-in-law is recovering well.

It is always so rewarding to hear that our staff are continuing to provide patients, and their families, with excellent support when they need it most.

I will share your story with our staff and managers who, I'm sure, will very much appreciate your comments.

Thank you, again.

Sara
