"Ambulance arrived within a few minutes"

We have used the 111 service several times in the past few months, a couple of times for my husband and this last time for me.

A lovely lady answered the call; she asked me a lot of questions and then went and consulted with colleagues. She had a lovely way with her. When she came back she said they had arranged an ambulance to come for me, it would be at my home in about half an hour. In fact it came within a few minutes.

The ambulance crew was lovely! They took me to the Croydon University Hospital, it used to be called the Mayday. I was admitted to hospital and kept in for 6 days when they did lots of tests and scans – the scan people are lovely.

The staff on the ward were lovely, I couldn’t fault them. The food could have been better, but in the circumstances it was OK.
