"Directions during building work"

About: Queen Elizabeth Hospital (Gateshead)

Anything else?

Whilst the new build is in progress it would be very helpful when sending out appointment information to include sufficient detail on the map so that an appropriate entrance can be chosen. Alternatively the nearest available entrance to the department could be mentioned in the appointment letter. My letter informs me of the department but not which part of the hospital it is in, and having been last week found I had to retrace my footsteps and walk all round the hospital because of changes to pathways and entrances.

Response from Queen Elizabeth Hospital

Thank you very much for your comments, a map such as this has just been rolled out this week, and should be included in all future Outpatients letters. It mainly relates to car parking but it does also include information on which entrances are best for which department, we hope this helps. If you would like a copy of the map you can visit this address on our website: http://www.qegateshead.nhs.uk/sites/default/files/users/user1/Car%20Parking%20at%20the%20QE%20Summer%202013.pdf
