"Good response from the 111 service"

About: Dorset County Hospital / Respiratory medicine South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust / Emergency ambulance South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust / NHS 111

(as a relative),

My mother felt unwell with a chest infection. As it was the weekend, she called 111.

The first-responder (Damian) arrived very quickly, reassured her suggested she went to hospital and arranged for the ambulance to take her there.

She was extremely impressed by the response she received and the swift response meant that she avoided the very serious illness she had last year when she'd had a similar chest infection.

She wanted me to record her gratitude to Damian and all those involved in the 111 response that day.

Dear Kennington

Thank you for taking the time to share your story. I hope that your mother is now feeling much better.

It is always so rewarding to hear that our staff are continuing to provide excellent care to patients when they need it most.

I can ensure a specific thanks is passed to the 111 call taker, Damain, and the ambulance crew who attended to your mother, however I will need some particular information from you in order to do this. May I ask you to contact me on 01392 453831 or email laura.martin@swast.nhs.uk and I can make sure that your story is shared with our staff.

Thank you, again, for taking the time to provide us with feedback.
