Although I work in a hospital I am nervous about being a patient. When I was told I needed surgery, day surgery was the perfect option as no overnight stay is required. I found the experience very positive. It is obviously much quieter and calmer than Worthing suiting the more nervous patient. I found all the staff to be very caring and was treated very well by all. I was kept well informed about where I was on the list and although I was bumped back to last on the list I was still operated on before lunchtime. I was the last person to leave the department at 7.30pm as the consultant had to be contacted but the nurses made sure I was ok before I was discharged and I didn't feel rushed by them. Long may this unit stay open as I think it does an excellent service. Thank you all.
