Absolutely terrible maternity department, went in to be induced, midwife was rude and disinterested, didn't believe my labour pains was told to go for a walk or have a bath and told of for lying in bed, would not put me on a monitor or examine me to see how I was progressing. Midwife just told me the pain was going to get worse so stop making such a fuss. Eventually my partner had to go out 5 or 6 times to eventually get the midwife to examine me, when she did she discovered I was 6cm dialated and in active labour. It was then a mad rush to find a labour room (took 2 hrs but was told 10 mins every time we asked) eventually delivered the baby and went up to the post natal ward. Next day was just as disorganised and uninterested midwives, offered little or no advise on breast feeding and other questions, was told we could go home by 2 midwives and paediatrician and then told we couldn't by another midwife and when we told her the paediatrician was going to discharge us we were told he doesn't know what he's doing and doesn't usually work in this department. People would come in and out without telling us what was going on or what they were doing. The whole time we were there we just felt like we were in the way, staff are rude, unprofessional and extremely unhelpful and disorganised! Will never go back there! Since leaving we have also been told by several other people they have had similar experiences!
"Absolutely terrible experience - lack of care"
