Anything else?
I chose to go to the Roding Hospital, as I was offered it as a NHS patient. I must say I have been very dissapionted. I have wondered if I would have got better treatment if I were paying, but then they shouldn't offer their services if that is the case. Every time I attended I was asked very loudly infront of the whole waiting area, if I was paying, and had to say I was NHS.... On the day of my operation, I was made ready and was awiaiting the anaethatist, when the consulant came in and said that the part for my new knee had not been orderd, and I had to go back five days later! I was discharged after two days and was expecting the district nurse to change the dressing when no one turned up, I rang them to be told that I would have to do it myself, as she wasn't going to come(I still don't know why). In the mean time I was having pains in my leg. I went back after ten days, and had the staples removed, and was sent for a scan which revealed a dvt. I was sent home, and a few days later noticed they had left a staple in, which had embedded in, and when I went back to the ward to get it removed, was treated like it was some how my fault..... Then the wound became infected, and I went to my GP as I felt bad about going back to the ward after that, but had to go back when it didn't improve, and was treated like a problem again. The pysio I recieved was almost non existent, giving me appointments, then denying it..then when I was asked to come back, I got a phone call saying I had received all the physio I was entitled to, so don't come! they were all giving me conflicting advice and no one seemd to want to be bothered. I think they shoulsd stick to paying patients, thats all they seem to be interested in.
