"Orthopaedic Administration Staff - A Big Thank You"

About: Royal Preston Hospital

Anything else?

Yesterday I left a very downbeat review of the treatment my wife received at the hands of the Orthopaedic Medical Staff and Junior Doctors following her appointment of the same day Today I write in praise of the orthopaedic administrative staff who have replied and have done so in a fashion that was both sympathetic and responsive. By 10.00 a.m I was contacted by admin staff who advised what they intended to do. I stressed I was not really interested in going over the events of yesterday more so getting treatment for my wife and alleviate her pain. By the end of the day the admin staff had gone through the notes made by the junior doctor contacted the spinal unit and the relevant specialist and just after 5.00 pm called to say that an appointment had been made for my wife in seven days. What I would like to make the point that in this case it was the non-medical staff who came through - these are the people targeted when it comes to job cuts in the NHS I can attest that it is these very people that have made a difference in my wife's case. Some Doctors could learn from their compassion. again many Thanks to those who I spoke with today.

Thanks for your comments. Hearing about positive experiences really motivates our staff, and helps us identify where we’re getting things right so we can share good practice across all of our services. It is disappointing to hear that your experience was mixed. Your comments have been noted and will be reviewed to identify opportunities for improvement and any actions that may be necessary. We hope your wife is in good health. Best wishes.
