Anything else?
Entered ward 15 on Thursday 20th June till Monday 24th June. The nursing staff were great, really efficient, friendly and funny, and totally overworked but I couldn't have asked for better! Now comes the problem. Certain consultants were not properly 'clued up' on my illness. One said they could see no reason why I was having pain where I was, and said they'd looked at a recent report which showed nothing. A junior doctor by their side had to say they wrong because they held the proper report which backed up the precise location of my pain. One consultant questioned whether I had actually seen a specialist in my illness and said nothing would be done unless I provided evidence, I gave them the specialists name ( by the way, they are a world leader with my illness) and hospital they worked at and they said it was up to ME to contact them to send THEM details of my illness. Eventually, they checked on my specialist and started to believe me and stopped talking down to me and started to listen. Sadly I will miss the wonderful nurses on ward 15, because after the way the consultants treated me, I will be having my operations at a different trust.
