Anything else?
I attended St Albans Hospital on the 25th June for a day Gynecology Proceedure. I was very impressed with all the ward staff, from the staff on the Reception to the Nursing and health Care Assistants, they were all extremely professional, friendly and informative, and they really tried to put everyone at ease. The anesthetist came round intoduced themselves and spoke to everyone individually. The only complaint that I have is that when the Doctor came around, they didn't identify themselves as my surgeon, they just confirmed my name and asked me to sign a consent form, I dont think that they even looked me in the eye and didn't speak to me/us again. I only found out they were my doctor, when the lady in the next bed asked who they were.( we thought that maybe they were something to do with Admin) This didn't fill me with too much confidence, exspecially as I was last on the list to be operated on, so I had time to worry. It also would have been nice to have some sort of feed back, but I understand that they are busy. I heard other doctors later in the day speak to their patients and taking the time to explain the proceedure and what they should expect, which is what I would expect. But, still taking all of this into account the Nursing staff and who whole ward experience really made up for the bad manners of one doctor, who at the end of the day has hopefully sorted my problems, so I can't really compain to much. I would definately want to use this Hospital again should the need arise. Thank You for everything.
