Why do the junior specialists in the Orthopaedics department treat you with such disrespect and think you are totally stupid. My wife is in tears through their lack of patient care and to me a total lack of common sense throughout the department. The background is my wife is in acute pain in her leg and was referred by her doctor some months ago. My wife waited weeks for weeks to get an x- ray, results come back for my wife to be told "no we need an MRI scan" - some six weeks later the scan is done at Chorley Hospital. She was told to report today for the results. She arrived and was told they were 80 minutes behind schedule. So a 2.30 appointment was finally attended after 4.00 p.M. Was it worth the wait. No, after all this time (and I don't mean just today) she was told you need to see a specialist in spinal division. When asked how long will she have to wait the intelligent answer was "I don't know" did he offer to try and find out - no. Given the wealth of knowledge imparted by this junior doctor no. Why not save everybodies time and just write to my wife saying the case was being transferred. Isn't that just commonsense ? Doctors time is valuable but please do not be so arrogant to believe other peoples time is not equally important
