"Disgusting treatment"

About: Newham General Hospital

Anything else?

I brought my child into A&E due to her having a high temperature which was not going down after giving paracetamol and ibuprofen for 3 days. Me and my child were treated badly by the nurses in the children's department. The nurse that initially saw us didn't seem to care at all that my child was ill. When she gave paracetamol to my child she just squirted it in her mouth causing my child to almost choke on the medicine, then asked for a urine sample without giving me something to cover my child with which lead me to ask her colleague for something. Her other colleague tested my child's urine sample it was clear. When my child was called through by a doctor, these two nurses were saying things about my child. When the doctor had assessed my child, the door was wide open and I could hear everything the 2 nurses were saying about me and my child. I was angry when the nurses were saying how I was a bad mother, that I should not be a mother and that social services should take me child away from me. Also that my child looked so ugly that no guy would touch her with a stick when she gets older. Instead of the doctors stopping this, they were joining in. When I was sent home, I was not given a discharge letter and was told by the 2 nurses that I should just go. When I complained, I was told that these 2 nurses were not working on that day, which made me think they were covering everything up and made it out as I was lying about the whole thing. This A&E department puts the hospital down. It's a disgrace that this department employed staff like this.
