I am under stepping hill hospital for maternity services who are amazing and I highly recommend, due to previously appalling maternity care at Tameside hospital.
Today I had to attend a drop in clinic and stupidly decided to use one of the Tameside ones as it is closer, I am so angry with myself for being so stupid to trust Tameside I should have known better.
I saw a midwife who examined me and told me she would listen to my babies heart beat. She then proceeded to jab the Doppler scan into my abdomen so aggressively I had to request her to stop. She told me as I was 17 weeks she had to press so hard. I informed her that my babies heart beat has been heard on Doppler from 14 weeks without anyone being so rough with me.
I have just got home and I have a bruise on my abdomen where the doppler was forced into my abdomen. As I am resus negative I now have to go into hospital to have my baby checked over to check that its is ok to be given anti d. As well as now having the worry of hoping my baby will be ok owing to the fact I have had abdominal trauma.
I literally felt like I had been punched in the stomach when the midwife rammed the Doppler into my stomach. Tameside maternity - they can't even get the basics right!
