"my 7 month baby almost dropped by a doctor!"

About: Southampton General Hospital

Anything else?

took my 7 month old baby boy to children's outpatients ward (CLevel) (next to burger king) he was first weighed and measured by the nurses who I must say were very nice and kind! while I was undressing my son the doctor who was waiting to see my son came in the room (opening the door wide for the rest of waiting room to see my naked son (I wouldn't mind but I don't no who's about) saying chop chop hurry up. (I was 20 mins early to the appointment as I hate lateness) after Charlee was measured ext. I walked into this doctors room, he was very rude and patronising towards me and my mum who came with me for support (after waiting 7 months for the appointment) he picked my son up and swag back on his office chair which was not very stable while he done this he lost his balance and almost dropped my baby. he then asked about charlee's health and said he needed to preform an anal examination on my baby then made jokes about it. he done this with no other staff in the room or a second opinion. (this creeped me out!!) he swore stating "some doctors like giving out lots of medicines but I don't as it does ~~~~~~~ all! my son was then taken for blood tests again the nurses involved were very nice and kind and gentle with my baby. overall Southampton general .. absolute let down to the NHS service!!

Thank you for praising the nursing staff. I understand that you have written to Patient Support Services with your complaint and it will be dealt with through this process.
