"PPG's"

I wanted to see a GP of my choice.

I have struggled fro months to do that.

My health has seriously deteriorated.

In a PPG meeting we were give some information via the practice manager, why patient choice cannot be met.

Triage by phone ... no choice of doctor

Pre booking list ... only available two weeks ahead

This practice claims to have 11 doctors?

I made a formal complaint on the basis that the practice is in breach of the NHS constitution!

Within my complaint, I mentioned reasons brought up at the PPG.

I am told anything discussed in the meeting is private and confidential, simply by mentioning it here, I am now banned from PPG meetings for taking issues outside of the meeting.

The meeting is open to all patients, with minutes publicly available ... yet confidential?

I am told PPGs are NOT patient representatives!

I feel there are attempts to 'gag' patients and have been threatened with disciplinary action if iI take something outside of the meeting again ... like now!

So much for 'patient choice'!
