What I liked
I visited A&E on Thursday night at about 3.30am with a 20 year old male who had purposely overdosed by taking numerous tablets including painkillers and antidepressants.
We were looked after by a senior nurse who immediately put us in a quiet cubicle and triaged him with the utmost sensitivity and patience.
The normal checks such as blood pressure were done very quickly and we went through the normal procedure of a blood test and then waiting for results.
The A&E department were on working on paper notes that evening and despite this the service was fantastic.
Compliments to all the nursing team who were working on Thursday evening and to the nurse who carried out the various tests. Most importantly please be aware that the senior nurse deserves recognition and thanks for handling the situation in a very sensitive manner. I was very impressed.
