I actually wanted to comment on the overall service I received from the NHS but can only find individual establishments or services. Being of very good health, I am fortunate that I very rarely have to use any medical services but last Wednesday night (early hours of Thursdsay morning), I sufffered a miscarriage and had cause to come into contact with several medical professionals that were excellent! When the abdominal pain became hard to bear, I called NHS Direct. A doctor called me back within minutes and advised me about pain relief. This is the first time I have used this service and I was very impressed at having this available 24 hours a day. Unfortunately, the pain became unbearbale and my husband called an ambulance - Again the service was quick and the 2 paramedics were caring and professional. When I arrived at Hillingdon Hospital A&E, I was made as comfortable as possible and was later seen by a nurse who was so compassionate and professional -she made a very distressing and painful event just about bearable! I do not have her name but would be grateful if you can pass on my appreciation for her care. I think I was seen between 4 and 5 am Thu 19th June! At a time when the NHS receives a lot of negative publicity, I think it's important to acknowledge such excellent service. Thank you to everyone who looked after me - I hope you are able to pass on my comments to all involved.
