"A & E and Plaster Room"

About: Queen Elizabeth Hospital (Gateshead)

Anything else?

I attended the A & E Department with my young son (2 1/2 year old), who we where unsure if he had broke his foot. We where triaged promptly by the nurse and all his treatment from x-ray to treatment was prompt. All the doctors and nursing staff where friendly and understanding even though my son protested to most of what they needed to do. We where kept informed at every stage which was reassuring. We then attended the plaster room the next day for his cast and once again the staff where excellent with my son. They where patient and spoke to him to reassure him of what they where doing. Excellent and understanding staff who do not receive enough recognition for the care they provide.
