One of my Brother's carer 's was injured by a collapsing wall in his garden on 16th June and she was admitted to A&E. The reception office refused to pass on a message to this lady to ask that she contact without me providing her address and date of birth. My Brother has lost his speech and to find out this information I would have to phone his Solicitor who deals with his affairs and he would be charged a fee,assuming I could get through to him which is not easy. This in my opinion is unhelpful bureaucratic nonsense and as a result my Brother has been left in great distress not knowing the condition of his carer. His Monday carer is finding it difficult to console my Brother in these circumstances. What possible breach of confidence could there be if the injured lady was asked to contact me or consented to information about her condition being passed onto me by a member of staff.I think the answer is none whatsoever so what is the problem here? Please can your administration authorise your reception to take appropriate action in such circumstances.
