Mum never minded the wait to see the medical magicians who saved her life and gave her an extra 6 good years. The wait, sometimes quite long, reflected the fact that resource and professional expertise were being dedicated to her well-being and appropriate care in a difficult situation. We were greeted on first name terms, treated with consideration and even affection, and the expertise of the doctors and their excellent team generated total confidence in their judgement, even when the quality-of-life-cost of further surgery eventually outweighed the potential benefits. Thanks to regular visits and checks, Mum continued to sleep well and enjoy her life for another 6 years, and whilst it is obviously impossible to relish a trip to the hospital to check on mouth cancer, we certainly felt that we were among friends there. Mother could not speak well because of the disease, but often said in private how much she owed to LRI. I think it's now time we said it for her. Thank you.
