Paul Hodgkin is founder and chair of Care Opinion.
Paul was a GP for 25 years, before founding and leading Care Opinion for its first nine years. He is now chair of Care Opinion.
Paul is a graduate of the Young Foundation's School for Social Entrepreneurs. He has written more than 30 articles and papers about the future of medicine and how the web is changing health care for the BMJ, The Lancet, the Guardian and The Independent. Paul is also a columnist for E Health Insider (read his columns here).
Paul was a member of the Future Forum’s Information workstream during 2011/12. He has contributed discussion papers to the department of Health and the Cabinet Office and was a member of the Independent Advisory Group for Sir Ian Caruthers’s Innovation Review in 2011. He is vice chair of the Third Sector Sounding Board which gives advice to ministers within the Department of Health about issues relating to the third sector.
Paul contributed to the Francis Inquiry as a key speaker. At the fifth of a series of seminars held during the Inquiry, Paul was asked to provide expert comment on how to prevent and detect problems such as those that occured at Mid Staffordshire NHS Foundation Trust between 2005 and 2009.
