The Health Inclusion Team is a specialist team within Sheffield Health & Social Care NHS Foundation Trust. The team of nurses work with families who have children aged 0 to 19, young adults who are living in temporary accommodation, gypsies and travellers, victims of domestic abuse, trafficking, asylum seekers or refugees.

This is a really valued service that does important work within our community, but as a specialist service it is not widely known about. As a service, the Health Inclusion Team has historically struggled to gain service user and carer feedback, partly due to how the service is delivered. Due to the pandemic the team had to replace the majority of their face to face contacts with telephone consultations.

Care Opinion has given us a platform where we can generate feedback and has provided the resources to enable us to collect together the individual feedback given to our staff, you can read the stories about how the service has adapted to Covid-19 and the value of the service generally.  Due to the nature of this work and the vulnerability of individuals and families, Care Opinion with its anonymity but also public facing platform is an ideal vehicle for this feedback.  We hope that giving people a voice about this service will be part of the way we can empower this community and make them more visible.

The team assess the families health & social care needs and put together a care plan as well as offering practical and emotional support. The service also offers advice to other professionals working with asylum seekers. You can read more about this service here: The Health Inclusion Team

Here is an Interactive Tag Bubble Visualisations which show the main themes we have been able to identify so far through the feedback on Care Opinion.
