Every Monday morning we have an executive director's meeting and this morning we looked at the BBC winter pressures website  http://www.bbc.co.uk/nhswinter/ It gives a really interesting overview of activity in hospitals and how they're coping with the winter pressures.

Although the weather is quite mild at the moment it doesn't mean that we are any less busy. Yesterday, Sunday 8th, we had 111 ambulances come to East Surrey Hospital A&E. This was out of  a total of 269 A&E attendances, but we still managed a 4hour performance of 98.9%.  This is a fantastic achievement by the team and we are one of strongest performing A&Es in the country.  This is a significant turnaround from a couple of years ago when we were one of the weakest.
