We are delighted to celebrate a major milestone for Fife Health and Social Care Partnership as they become the first Health and Social Care Partnership in Scotland to surpass 1,000 stories shared on Care Opinion. Each of these stories represents a unique voice, a real experience, and an opportunity to learn, grow and improve the care delivered across Fife, and really is an incredible achievement.
Reaching this milestone hasn’t happened by chance. It’s the result of sustained effort by passionate teams who have championed feedback, encouraged open dialogue, and created a culture where experiences are welcomed and valued. Fife HSCP are continually mirroring the values of Care Opinion, with Innovation, Transparency, Humanity, Inclusivity & Positivity clear focuses.
“I am absolutely delighted to find out that Fife HSCP is the first HSCP in Scotland to surpass 1,000 stories on Care Opinion. This is a remarkable milestone and a true reflection of the dedication shown by our amazing staff who go above and beyond to deliver outstanding Health and Social Care services every day. The wide range of stories shared is both heartwarming and inspiring. Many are deeply moving and uplifting, providing encouragement and motivation for our teams. Others offer valuable insights that help us learn, grow and improve the care we provide. I want to extend my thanks to everyone who has contributed to this achievement – those who have shared their stories, those who have encouraged others to do so and those who have taken the time to respond thoughtfully. Your efforts are making a real difference.”
- Lynne Garvey, Director of Health and Social Care in Fife
“I am absolutely delighted that FHSCP has reached the incredible milestone of 1,000 reviews on Care Opinion. Listening to the voices of our patients, their families, and carers is not only invaluable, but it is also paramount in shaping and improving the care we provide. Their feedback offers us real insight into what we’re doing well and where we can grow, helping us ensure that our services remain compassionate, person-centred, and responsive to the needs of those we support. This achievement reflects our ongoing commitment to transparency, learning, and continuous improvement.”

As mentioned above, these stories “offer valuable insights”, helping to boost staff morale, celebrate services, but to also shape and inform future care. The impact of these 1,000 stories goes far beyond the number – they represent real human experiences and It’s a celebration of meaningful conversations, powerful insights, and the shared dedication to continuous improvement, which is something that Siobhan McIlroy, Head of Patient Experience has highlighted below:
"As Head of Patient Experience, I am incredibly proud to celebrate this milestone with our dedicated teams, patients, families, and communities across Fife. Reaching 1,000 stories is not just a number, it is a powerful testament to the culture of listening, learning, and compassion that defines our Health and Social Care Partnership.
Each story shared represents a voice heard, an experience valued, and an opportunity to grow. Whether it’s praise, a challenge, or a moment of reflection, these stories help us understand what truly matters to the people we care for and support. They guide us in shaping services that are not only clinically excellent but also deeply human and person-centred.
This achievement places Fife HSCP at the forefront of patient and family engagement in Scotland, and it is a reflection of the trust our communities place in us. I want to thank every individual who has taken the time to share their experience, your voice is helping us build a more responsive, inclusive, and compassionate system of care. I also want to thank everyone who has taken the time to read the story and write a response.
Here’s to the next 1,000 stories, and to continuing our journey of listening, learning, and improving together".

As the Engagement & Support officer overseeing the incorporation of Care Opinion into practice in Fife HSCP, I am continually impressed with the work being done, and the real passion present from both the teams working to gather feedback, but the Fife HSCP Compliance Team too. The Fife HSCP Compliance Team are an integral mechanism in this milestone being reached, with this number serving as a true testament to their dedication and passion. Here's what the team had to say:
"We are so pleased to share this positive news which marks a significant milestone in our journey. Over the last two years, considerable effort has gone into promoting the use of Care Opinion across the Health and Social Care Partnership . While Health services have been familiar with the platform for some time, Social Work and Social Care services have more recently begun to engage with it. The Compliance team have received a lot of support from Fraser and the team at Care Opinion, whose guidance has been instrumental in embedding the system within our social work and care services. A series of awareness and training sessions have helped staff understand the platform, learn how to respond effectively and explore ways to engage meaningfully with service users and families. Our Leadership has been consistently supportive, with regular updates on Care Opinion and interesting stories shared through the weekly Director’s Briefing, ensuring all staff and partners remain informed and involved. It is great to see that these efforts have paid off with growing engagement and a shared commitment to listening, learning and improving through feedback.
We have been fortunate in Fife HSCP that we have had 2 star responders recognised and celebrated at Care Opinion Conferences, one responder was from HSCP Health Services and the other responder was one of our team managers in Social Work and Care Services.
We are delighted that Fife is the first Partnership in Scotland to reach over 1,000 stories and the input from staff, service users, patients and families is appreciated greatly. Here’s to the next milestone in our journey and we look forward to expanding our working relationship with Care Opinion and our Services".
– Avril Sweeney, Denise Paterson and Cathy Henderson, Fife HSCP Compliance Team
