"Perinatal experience"

About: Aberdeen Maternity Hospital / Obstetrics (Maternity care) Inverurie Hospital / Midwifery Royal Cornhill Hospital / Maternity and Neonatal Psychological Intervention service

(as the patient),

This was my second pregnancy and I was cared for by the excellent team of midwives in NHS Grampian, particularly Sophie, who was my named midwife, Hannah, who was the student midwife looking after me, and Ian, the midwife from midwife led Aberdeen maternity unit.

I felt that the concept of a student midwife involved in your care and being able to assist in your delivery was most helpful. It provided a means of continuity of care and  support and I found that support to be very helpful. I thank the whole perinatal team from the bottom of my heart. It was also very helpful to get much needed support from my health visitor during pregnancy, Ms. Katrina from Skene medical group.

I would also like to mention the excellent service provided by the perinatal mental health services in Aberdeen, who provided support quite quickly, with particular thanks to Dr. Ross, clinical psychologist in the team.

Hello Newmum87

Congratulations on the birth of your baby

Thank you for taking the time to give feedback to the team who have cared for you. This feedback will be shared with all and very much appreciated.

Its lovely to hear of your experience of continuity and what that has meant to you but also how all the multidisciplinary team has played their part in making your experience so positive.

Best Wishes to you and your family

Kind regards

Jude
