This past week my father-in-law has been in The Royal Infirmary. The nurses are attentive but the feedback on prognosis and care package has been nil - they need to wait for the doctor and the doctor is only there in the mornings. The feedback today was he could get out tomorrow. He's been in for a week blocking a bed because everything just meanders with no management.
There is no urgency anywhere and the general experience is so poor.
The older patients (likely to be visited by older relatives) are on the top floor. There's two lifts and one has been out of use all week.
There's no signs to tell you this until you get there, but the only toilets visitors are allowed to use are back on the ground floor and so when my mother-in-law needed to go, that was the end of visiting.
I could keep going on and on...
"Excellent staff but no structure or management"
