"Brilliant teamwork"

About: NHS 24 / NHS 24 (111 service) Royal Alexandra Hospital / Accident & Emergency

(as a parent/guardian),

My young adult son had an accident whilst playing football and was complaining of a sore shoulder. Called NHS24 who were great and told us to visit RAH A&E. Attended and arrived about 6.20pm, saw nurse, saw Doctor, x-rayed, back to Doctor & diagnosed with a broken clavicle. All within 2 hours, brilliant team work.

Dear Soplewis,

Thank you for sharing your story on Care Opinion. I was sorry to read that your son had suffered such a painful injury and I hope he is recovering well.

Thank you for taking the time to share such a positive story with us. It sounds as though your son had great care from his call to NHS 24 to his attending A&E - I was pleased to read that it was such a smooth experience for you both. I know you mentioned that your son is an adult, but as a parent, I know we never really stop worrying!

It would be great to share your feedback with the staff involved in your son's care. To allow me to do this, I would be grateful if you could contact me at patient.experience@nhs24.scot.nhs.uk and provide me with your son's details. This will allow me to identify the staff involved in his care and share your lovely feedback with them.

I note that colleagues from NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde are also tagged in this story. I'm sure they will be equally pleased to read your story.

Thank you once again for sharing such a positive story with us. Please pass my best wishes on to your son for his recovery.

Best wishes,

Andrew

Dear Soplewis

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave us such lovely feedback regarding your experience of attending the A&E Department of the Royal Alexandra Hospital with your son.

It was fantastic to hear how efficient the staff were in diagnosing your son and how quickly he was seen by the doctor and nurse. This must have been a relief.

I will pass on your thanks to all the staff within the department who I'm sure will be touched to hear he is on the mend and you had such a pleasant experience.

Please take care.

Kevin
