"Health visiting"

About: Children and Young People Services / Health Visiting

(as a parent/guardian),

All the health visits were very helpful I learnt something every time.

Health visitor was very knowledgeable & helpful, I would have been lost without the advice.

Family advice is okay, but when you're listening to many family members you can get confused, I listened to the health visitor more than anything else.

Able to text & call for advice as well was excellent.

Up until 4 months I have no complaints.

The last visit at 4-month review I found information overload. I felt it was too much squeezed into one visit.

Particularly weaning which I am very anxious about ,

Also cup use, teeth, dentist.

Maybe too much of a gap between 4-6 months. I would feel like 1-2 more visits in around 6 months would be very beneficial indeed.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback of the health visiting service, it is so valuable to hear from parents about their experiences. I am delighted that you have had such a positive experience with your health visitor and have found the visits so helpful to date.

I am sorry that you felt overloaded by the information shared at the 4 month review and appreciate your feedback in regards to feeling that perhaps too much information was shared for one visit.

The health visiting service is unique to each family and although there are set times when our service will reach out to complete health reviews, I would encourage you to contact your health visitor if you feel you would like more support and advise around weaning, dental care and progressing your baby onto a cup as you have expressed feeling anxious about this.

I hope the health visiting service can continue to support you as your baby grows and develops.

Many thanks Suzanne McLoughlin.
