"A visit to Antrim Area Hospital with abdomen pain."

About: Antrim Area Hospital / Ward C5 Gastroenterology/Medical

(as the patient),

A recent visit to Antrim Area Hospital confirmed for me that all the clapping during the covid period for the NHS was thoroughly deserved. A very painful abdomen was quickly diagnosed as Diverticulitis and I left with peace of mind and the required antibiotics. All during the diagnosis process I was treated with great care and kindness and would like to thank nurses Lynn, Gillespie and Agnew, Dr Mooney and radiographer Mr Elliot.

Collectively this was a job well done and my recovery is ongoing.

Hello Hugo1

My Name is Natalie McLaughlin and I have just recently taken the role as Clinical Services Manager for Ward C5 AAH.

I would like to firstly thank you for taking the time to post what is a very positive story in relation to your experience on Ward C5. Staff are grateful to hear that the care they provide is of a high standard, and patients leave with a positive experience of their care and treatment by all staff.

The last few years has been an extremely challenging time for the NHS, and we are currently facing one of the worse winters in terms of demand on our health service. Therefore, your positive feedback is most welcome and encouraging, that regardless of the challenges staff face, and continue to face, they carry out their job with care, compassion and kindness.

I will ensure this feedback is shared with our staff on C5, and may I take this opportunity to wish you well and thank you again for sharing your story.

Kind Regards

Natalie
