"The care and attention I received was second to none"

About: Glasgow Royal Infirmary / Accident & Emergency Glasgow Royal Infirmary / Cardiology (Wards 19, 24, 43a, 43b & 44a)

(as the patient),

I was sent to glasgow royal infirmary by my heart failure nurse as I had become unwell. From the minute I stepped into A+E till I left the ward eight days later the care and attention I received was second to none. The staff in a+e were quick at assessing me and got things moving so fast with my treatment.

I was admitted to ward 43A cardiology receiving which I have been to quite a few times and know the staff quite well, as always they went above and beyond for me, nothing was a bother, they made sure I was comfortable and that I knew what was happening with my treatment. The Drs were also great as well.

I was then moved to ward 19 the other cardiology ward. I had never been on this ward before. From the day I went into the ward till I left the staff were absolutely amazing they made me feel so welcome again nothing was a bother to them. They made sure I was ok and always asking if I needed anything. Everything was explained to me in a way I understood it about test results and about different medications i was getting (above my normal ones). I became quite upset at one point and the staff made sure I was ok and kept reassuring me all was fine.

I also would like to mention the porters who helped me so much as well getting me to different departments for tests and making me laugh and smile on route. Also the domestics who do a fab job keeping the ward so tidy and fresh, also for serving us some lovely meals. So a massive thank you to every member of staff within these departments you all made my stay that bit easier and I will be forever grateful to you all.

Dear don87

Thank you for taking the time to leave us such lovely feedback regarding your experience of attending the A&E & Cardiology Department of the Glasgow Royal Infirmary.

I was sorry to hear you had to attend the hospital after feeling unwell. I can only begin to imagine how worried you must have been so to hear the staff within the A&E Department were quick to assess you was very reassuring.

I'm glad the staff took the time to make you feel comfortable within the ward and explained your test results and different medications in a way you could understand. It was nice to hear of your admiration for our Facilities staff also and how they were able to make you laugh and smile in often difficult situations.

Hospital can be a daunting place at the best of times so to learn you were provided with such wonderful support and guidance was really heart warming.

I will be happy to pass on your thanks to all the staff mentioned who I'm sure will be touched to read such glowing feedback about their service.

Kind regards

Kevin
