"Treatment received"

About: Forth Valley Royal Hospital / Accident & emergency

(as a service user),

I presented at FV A&E department fearing the worst and expecting to be waiting for hours in the department without treatment. I was promptly triaged by Anton who transferred me to treatment area where my nurse Yvette checked me over and pushed for doctors to see me quickly (I couldn’t swallow and my throat was closing up). Although there was an emergency in the department which most of the doctors had to attend and at least 5 other patients were brought into the small department by ambulance crews, I was still seen I think within the hour by 2 nurses assisted by auxiliary who was kept very busy all through my time in the unit, and Dr Sophie who although couldn’t see the issue took my concerns seriously and had me referred to ENT in the surgical ward. I was transferred to SAU where the surgeons looked after me as an inpatient for 24 hours. I can’t thank the A&E department enough. The service they provided was faultless.

Good Morning Haam

Thank you for taking the time to write to us and share you experience within our A&E Department.

It is always lovely to hear when our staff provide excellent care and were understanding of your concerns. We understand that our A&E Department is extremely busy at times and it is re-assuring to read that our staff provide the best care and spent time listening to you at what can be a stressful time. I hope you are recovering well and are on the mend.

Once again thank you for your kind words.

Kind regards

Caroline
