"A&E & Recovery ward CAH"

About: Craigavon Area Hospital / 3 South Craigavon Area Hospital / Emergency Department Craigavon Area Hospital / Urology

(as the patient),

I brought myself to A&E on Saturday morning due to taking unwell from kidney stones. As soon as I arrived I received amazing care from all the staff in A&E. I was seen fast and a care plan was put in place straight away, communication was brilliant and the staff made me feel at ease with everything that was going on. I was seen by the urologist who explained I needed surgery which was done in the space of 4 hours!

Theatre staff made me feel comfortable and relaxed before my surgery.

Afterwards I was brought to the recovery ward, I ended up staying here for a couple of days and I can’t put into words how well I was treated!! The nursing staff checked on me constantly ensuring I was comfortable and kept me updated on my care plan. I got to know each of the girls as they al l took time to come and have a chat with me which was amazing to see as they are never off their feet caring for many patients at once.

I am due to return for another surgery in 4 weeks time and my nerves are more at ease knowing the care that I will receive is amazing and I knowing I’m in safe hands with the brilliant medical and nursing staff in theatre and recovery in CAH.
