The nurse she is a busy girl
she never seems to stop,
you can tell who is in charge,
by the colour of her top.
The darker blue it is,
the higher up the chain,
and at the head is sister,
looking after her domain,
The ward is run like clockwork,
she does not miss a trick,
and with the needle she is best,
when it is time to have your pr-ck
From the daily changing of the sheets,
to the lady with the mop,
the standards in the ward are high,
they just never seem to drop
Nothing is a problem,
be it a large or simple task,
they often seem to know,
before you even ask.
It would be wrong to pick one person,
they are all part of a great team,
but whoever put them together,
they certainly picked the cream,
How long will I be here, I'm not sure,
but I know they are all trying their best,
so that sooner or later, I hope,
I will be back in my little nest,
My time in Wigan hospital, before Langtree,
is a sparse memory for me,
but I have a very special thank you,
to the doctors, nurses and staff in the H. D. U
who helped to pull me through,
And when my stay is over,
and everything is OK with me,
I know I will owe it all,
to the staff on HDU and Ward Langtree
"I owe it all to the staff on HDU and Ward Langtree"
