"Outpatient’s staff are nothing short of a miracle."

About: Outpatients / Paediatric clinics

(as a staff member posting for a carer/relative),

I am here regularly with my son. I have two appointments today with him and I am just waiting on the second. My husband is away parking the car but he has missed the first appointment, so I must say the parking is beyond a joke. My son is so young and this waiting room does not facilitate to distract him, it would be nice if there were things he could play with.

I cannot say a bad word about the staff, they are nothing but exceptional. They make sure that if I do not hear them they will come out and come to us directly. They make sure not to skip people either, like my son needed the bathroom and they waited until we came back so we did not miss out appointment or have to wait any longer. My son loves Joan, the audiologist, she is really good with him.

Outpatient’s staff are nothing short of a miracle.

Hello Shagq75,

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us and I apologize for the inconvenience caused due to parking facilities on Site, unfortunately this is out of my control. Thank you for your comments regarding distraction for children in our OPD; we have ordered distraction kits and wall projectors to aid distraction for children waiting for their appointment and awaiting delivery. Hopefully this will improve service user experience in the future. Unfortunately, due to IPC restrictions, we have been unable to provide any toys and therefore, have had to find other creative ways to provide a source of distraction.

I am delighted to read your kind words about the OPD staff, they will be so please with your feedback which I will be sure to share with them.

I wish you and your son all the very best.

Kind regards,

Jodie
