About: Royal Aberdeen Children's Hospital / Accident & Emergency (Emergency Care) Royal Aberdeen Children's Hospital / High Dependancy Unit Royal Aberdeen Children's Hospital / Medical Paediatrics (Children's Medicine) Scottish Ambulance Service / Ambulance Control Centre Scottish Ambulance Service / Emergency Ambulance

(as a parent/guardian),

The day my baby turned 8 weeks, life changed, he was breath holding, immediately called 999 as was completely out of his character, and right from the call handler, the paramedics, the children's hospital A&E staff, HDU, neurology, and medical ward staff, archie foundation for parent accommodation, the chaplains, all the staff everyone that played a part in my baby's care, were amazing, not only with him, but myself and his dad too. He now has his diagnosis of epilepsy and he has a great team around him, there just is not enough gratitude to the amazing work the staff actually do, they all played a part in saving my sons life.. Literally.. Thank you 🙏🏻 to the staff of Royal Aberdeen children's hospital you are incredible ❤️

Dear Hayley S

Thank you for taking the time post your Feedback here on CareOpinion. I am very sorry to read about your little boy being unwell. The situation you describe sounds extremely terrifying indeed for you all. What an awful time this must have been.

It is great to read the lovely comments you have made about all of the staff involved with your wee boy's care, everyone has clearly had an impact and it is lovely to read.

If you would like your kind comments to passed on to our call handler and also the crew I would be more than happy to arrange this for you. If so, please may I ask you contact us at sas.feedback@nhs.scot with your son's name, address and date of when we attended to him. Please may we also ask you make reference to your Care Opinion username which will allow us to link to this story.

Now your wee boy has received a diagnosis, I am sure he will receive the very best of ongoing care and support and I wish him and all your family the very best

Thank you once again

Lesley

Hi Hayley

Again -thank you so much for taking precious time to feedback your positive experience at such a difficult time in your lives. I am pleased to hear that you have had a diagnosis that explains your son's symptoms and means appropriate care and treatment can now be provided to him.

I will let the teams know of your lovely feedback. If you e-mail me on sue.danby@nhs.scot with your son's name I can ensure the actual members of the healthcare team who looked after him within RACH get this praise directly. For staff to hearing how their care has positively impacted families lives, gives them a huge boost.

Kind Regards

Sue Danby
