"Excellent care in stroke ward"

About: Older people's healthcare / Stroke Unit Ward 40

(as the patient),

In September this year I was admitted to ward 40 Altnagelvin after a transient ischaemic attack (TIA) clinic appointment. My first contact was Valerie and the doctor there.

After all tests were carried out I was admitted to ward 40. Valerie was there which was reassuring, as it was a worrying time.

Every nurse and doctor, people delivering the meals and cleaners were fantastic, very courteous and pleasant I was attended to by speech therapy, optometrist, pharmacy and my care was excellent.

I cannot thank everyone on that ward enough they were wonderful, a special word of thanks to Valerie she was an angel
