We contacted the ambulance control room some time after 10 pm for advice and assistance. The call handler was very helpful and promised a prompt response from the control room paramedic.
The control room paramedic called us promptly and decided that an emergency ambulance response was appropriate. They advised that if a more urgent, life threatening, call came through that the ambulance might be diverted.
The ambulance arrived promptly and we cannot speak highly enough of the crew from Haddington, Ally and her colleague whose name we unfortunately did not quite get but who looked after us in the back of the ambulance during the transport to A&E at the Royal Infirmary.
Many thanks to them for their professionalism, commitment and patient centred-ness.
